7 Things about Me

  • 1- I am from Hijaz, Saudi Arabia. 2- I am currently studying in the US & fully legal. 3- Since I am an alien (according to the law), I am allowed to make grammatical mistakes and endless run-ons. 4- I do pick sides and call them "educated opinions." (I am pro-choice). 5- I believe that the number one worst export of America is "McDonalds", best export, on the other hand, is "Individualism". 6- I am becoming more cynical and less optimistic by the day (Need a cure). 7- I can’t tolerate irrelevance.

Since When

Zawahiri_203body_6 Since when the Al-Zawahiri loves or cares about Lebanon and what happens to it? Seriously, isn’t the Shiite Hezbollah worse than the infidels and the Jews (according to his/their convictions)? But we should cheer for him anyways, the guy and his army of believers will liberate Spain for God’s sake. After all, it’s a noble cause.

Bbc_3 And while we are on it, Israel army, thank you for giving Al-Zawahiri the stage and for continually providing the Arab public a daily show of indiscriminate wreckage and disrespect of international conflict and humanitarian laws (Btw, HRW and ICRC are not anti-Israeli pro-Arab organizations). It is quite a popular show and everybody is thrilled about the peace process.

Apocalypse Right Now

As Media Matters for America has noted, on the July 12 edition of his CNN Headline News show, host Glenn Beck identified the current conflicts in the Middle East and India as evidence that "it is the end of days" and later described the conflicts as "World War III and the impending apocalypse." Beck also stated that "whether you like it or not, this is a religious war.

But why now, why this war? Well, here is your answer:

On the July 18 edition of the program, Beck referred to the recent heat wave as "the apocalypse" and after showing a photo of a cat born with two faces, Beck said it was "further evidence, oh, yes, that the end of days is approaching quickly."

This sums it up, attempts to stop the war in the Middle East are useless now (don’t even waste your time), cause the cat with two faces is already born.

“Apparently Deliberate”

Unifil_1 What are the military and strategical goals behind the Israeli Air strike on the UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) headquarters in Lebanon? Can anyone explain?

And an environmental catastrophe in Lebanon [Via From Beirut to the Beltway].

The Middle East is Burning, While….

Beirut1Yet another dreadful war has started in the Middle East and nobody wants to put the fire out. We are heading to the worst as Lebanon is being systematically destroyed. Israeli tanks and troops are entering Lebanon as we speak while Hezbollah is firing rockets back at Israel. The US has sent nine Navy ships to the region to evacuate thousands of Americans from Lebanon. Tanks_2Not much pressure from the US on the Israeli government which has a green light from Washington to continue leveling Lebanon for (supposedly) another week while the death toll is rising with no apparent regard. Tourists from all nationalities have fled Lebanon and countless Lebanese citizens are becoming refugees. And after a whole Lebanese-Candadian family was wiped out by Israeli bombs, John Bolton is giving us his wisdom on the value of human life:

…"I think it would be a mistake to ascribe moral equivalence to civilians who die as the direct result of malicious terrorist acts," he added, while defending as "self-defense" Israel's military action, which has had "the tragic and unfortunate consequence of civilian deaths".

…"It's simply not the same thing to say that it's the same act to deliberately target innocent civilians, to desire their deaths, to fire rockets and use explosive devices or kidnapping versus the sad and highly unfortunate consequences of self-defense," Bolton noted.

Beirut0 It is no surprise that Bolton is not keen on the whole international peace force idea either (why should he?) And, let’s also not forget about the gunmen with rocket-launchers who massacred 60 at a market in Baghdad in the middle of the day or the suicide bomber who lured innocent Iraqis with a job offer then took the lives of 59 in Baghdad, but that’s daily news, no emphasis needed here, it is just numbers we are talking about. Then on top of all of this,  we have our honored Arab leaders who are fighting among themselves, playing the blame game and uttering total bullshit. Well, gentleman, why hurry or worry, who cares about time? All of you will be sleeping in your far, distant cozy silk embroidered sheets at the end of the night anyways. Let it burn.

It is so great to be home!

Oh, crap, I didn’t mention the “happy people”- the brand of people who are enjoying the crisis and benefiting from it: The war machine and its cronies, the Syrian border guards who will let certain rich tourists go through their border only when they pay in $$$, the Muslim militants who are looking forward to swim in a blood bath, the Christian fundamentalists who are awaiting the end of times and see this as the golden opportunity, the Saudi tourists who, after leaving Lebanon, are looking for another place where they can spend their money on yet another extravagant disgusting vacation, and many many more.

Isn't this a great place?

(And now people, I can safely say that I have done my duty and can go watch some Haifa Wehbe video clips.)

BBC Talking Point Interview

I have been interviewed by the Arabic BBC for an article on bloggers from the Middle East. It is a very good artilcle that sheds light on a group of diverse bloggers and explores their views on blogging as an alternative source of media .You can read it here and also participate with your opinions. Disclaimer: The photo of a head-to-toe covered woman has no relationship to this blog and its author (had to mention that).

Back Home

After spending 22 hours in cars, planes and airports, I am finally back home in Jeddah. It feels strange to wake up in one part of the world then sleep at another, all in the same day, it still gets to me every time.
